Overview
There is a phenomenon that primarily began during the Trump years when many were scared and confused and wanted fun and news in a safe environment. Many opened YouTube channels and started doing the ancient arts of tarot and astrology. Those who tried to make sense of the craziness and eventually the attack on the Capitol, including me, began seeing these groups as very comforting.
The groups I chose were blue and primarily Democratic. I am fascinated by social movements and culture. You could call this cultish, but there are no rules except civility and kindness. And as we often mention, “this is for entertainment only.” We are delighted when we understand more and something occurs the reader “predicted.” I don’t watch many who call themselves “psychic.” The ones I do watch tend to be political. And Anything they “predict” they know may not be accurate. These are not gurus, at least for me.
I believe we are doing these ancient arts as a combination of our inner knowing and the idea found in quantum processes that we are all a part of a larger universe and can receive information.
Many have now tested this: MIT is doing quantum biology, as are other fields I won’t go into here. Interestingly, many quantum physicists and other scientists became religious or mystical. I use it in my epigenetics practice. A hero of mine, David Bohm, was thought of as a father of quantum physics (Einstein called him his spiritual son), became a mystic, and followed philosopher, Jiddu Krishnamurti. My favorite life-changing book of his, Wholeness and the Implicate Order, enchanted me. I have studied a lot of quantum processes that are different than science and numbers, more akin to Ancient Shamanism, perhaps or metaphysics.
I later found a landmark book, The Field, by Lynne McTaggart, a prominent English skeptical science journalist. Though a challenging book, it even astonished a Harvard graduate friend. McTaggart interviewed early practitioners who were testing/using quantum methods. These interviews changed McTaggart’s mind profoundly. You can find many academic papers on tarot and astrology used in therapy. Contact me if you want resources. Many use Jungian psychology. (See especially academia dot edu)
McTaggart now creates INTENTION groups worldwide where the group prays/meditates or envisions well-being for others. I led one such group, and the young woman we were contemplating won a 5K nursing school scholarship the following week. (Since I have done few since that were successful, I do not consider it valid, but it was fun.) McTaggart now has a project worldwide and a guidebook, and many famous spiritualists participate. The project is called The Intention Experiment, and I will let you find it. Let’s say she has accumulated a lot of positive data. Many churches now offer training and groups.
My point is that we in astrology/astronomy and tarot who believe in a COLLECTIVE CONSCIOUSNESS are not alone. We can be considered to all be connected, even One entity. So we assume the cards or planets are telling us stories.
Aside: I have an article on Medium reflecting on using tarot for inspiration: Receive Anytime Inspiration AnytimeYou Desire From Your Subconscious. I now notice many artists and therapists using both tarot and astrology. I wrote this article because some on Medium complained of a lack of inspiration.
An important point, especially in the beginning, is that YouTube has pretty clear guidelines, and they tag naughty or words they find inflammatory. In the beginning, that included mentioning Trump, so we made up names. So you will hear us saying, “for entertainment purposes only, YouTube.” And any reasonable reader will tell you this is not specific, and we are always delighted when another reader concurs and validates a reading. My favorite astrologer has long predicted Biden would be pleased with the midterms. If you are a lover of democracy, you may agree with our recent wins in government.
On to Tea Time with Autumn of Black and Orange Tarot and Astrology
Autumn is an impeccable hostess and explains everything well. I hope you enjoy it.
From my watching, I remember there were no laptops, and the Republicans were disrupting and tearing down Hunter. NOW at the midterms, I hope some of this has changed, and we are learning better how to do civil democracy and notice lying and cheating.
I highly recommend the groups I know. You will hear Autumn responding to us, the audience, with many brilliant comments and additive information in the chat. Many chatters are super intelligent, informed, and funny as heck. We have all become more intimate over time, creating safety and hope. I find this a lovely phenomenon. So I have wanted to debunk the Hunter Biden Story and alert you to places you can feel love, support, and respect.
In closing, I will share advice from a beloved mentor: Democracy is messy, but you will learn a lot. I would call this natural, especially now that we see change away from hate and fear. Now let’s keep at it.
May all beings flourish, and as President Biden says, the soul of our Nation return to civility, dignity, kindness, and intelligence.
